The purpose the Home Improvement Program is to assist low- and moderate-income residents in updating and making critical home repairs to correct housing code violations and improve living conditions.
Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program
Salt Lake County has a loan program to help finance critical repairs to homes located in Magna, Millcreek, Kearns and South Salt Lake City in order to meet current housing codes. For more information call Housing Services at 801 352-0325, or visit their website at Housing Services of Utah.
Emergency Repairs
Assist, Inc., provides grants to finance the replacement of furnaces, waterlines and other critical home repairs. Contact Assist, Inc., at 801 355-7085 for more information.
Minor Repair Program
Senior citizens and people with disabilities limiting ease of access (for example, use a wheelchair) may qualify for funds provided by the Utah Food Bank Services to make minor home repairs and improve accessibility. Call 801 978-2452.
